Music

“Where words fail, music speaks.” –  Hans Christian Anderson

Music is a language that crosses all ages, cultures and abilities. If you are a keen singer, wanting to explore different sounds or simply appreciate listening to recorded and live music, we will cover this through a range of large and small group activities.

Music helps to –

Increase self-expression and creativity

Develop communication skills e.g. listening

Encourage team work and turn taking

Develop confidence in timekeeping

Develop literacy and numeracy skills

Encourage evaluation skills

There will be opportunities to develop your skills using different performing methods such as:

Singing and playing instruments

 Song writing

Recording Music

Digital sound

Radio Presenting

An example music workshop would include a (vocal) warm up, percussion games and then opportunities to work in a small group themed activity where everyone is encouraged to participate.
