Here at CoCoCare we are actively inclusive and encourage positive interactions. Our staff have a range of skills in promoting social interactions; through intensive interaction, sensory exploration and promoting communication.
Intensive interaction can promote communication and social skills. It helps develop trust, confidence and relationships.
Social exploration offers different ways to stimulate the senses: touch, smell, taste, movement, balance, sight and hearing. Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourages participants to create, investigate and discover.
Promoting communication We offer inclusive communication which means sharing information in a way that everybody can understand. At CoCoCare we encourage and promote communication using various tools, supporting each person to be understood and have a voice. We have made strong links with local speech and language therapists.
We also offer tailored one to one workshops from sensory cooking, communication through storytelling, sound board (exploring rhythms) to accessing public transport.
In our NEW PREMISES we are creating our own SENSORY ROOM and developing more specialised one to one experiences.
